IT Helpdesk and Network Technician The candidate we are seeking must be a highly motivated self starter with a desire to achieve. He or she will be of professional appearance and possess very good interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus as they will be the first point of contact for employees seeking technical support, helping to maintain the Clients IT systems and infrastructure, and wherever possible to extend and improve the IT services to exceed expectations of the Client.
The candidate could be based either on a client site in Dublin City Centre or Trim, Meath (and should be flexible at to work location) providing Helpdesk support to approximately 1200 users - this is a 2 year contract.
Description The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 5 years experience of working on an IT help desk in Ireland. They will have provided remote and desktop support for multiple clients in a help desk environment.
The candidate will demonstrate a proven level of technical knowledge. While professional qualifications are not essential, these would be a strong advantage.
Having a systematic, logical approach to solving problems and to documenting their resolution.t.
The candidate will be able to remain focused when under pressure and juggling demands, show great initiative and have a positive attitude towards teamwork.
The candidate will understand that the continual sharing of knowledge is paramount for professional development and will be keen on exploring new opportunities and experiences.
At this stage, there will be no management responsibilities. However, the right candidate could find themselves coordinating the support team or managing projects.
Key Skills The successful candidate will have a strong background in the both Novell and Microsoft Windows suite of desktop products, including administration, architecture, design and implementation. And it would be beneficial if the candidate had experience in Linux and open source software as well
They will have basic knowledge of TCP/IP; knowledge of LAN infrastructure components, including experience in implementation and management of infrastructure services such as eDirectory, iPrint, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
