This position will suit a doctor wanting to be a community orientated country GP, an old fashioned, country doctor who can deliver the extra care and attention required by our patients. Our patients deserve no less. We need someone who isn't afraid to be known by their first name by everyone in town, who would shoot off from the local football match to set a young boy's broken leg, pop in on an elderly patient to check her hip on the way back, sample a walnut and carrot cake at a local street stall and judge the best pumpkin competition at the annual show. Our town deserves a GP who can deliver young Sally Cook's baby girl, watch her grow up, and deliver her children. If you commit to our town, our town will commit to you, wholeheartedly.

Batlow Medical Centre is nestled in the beautiful Snowy Mountains of NSW and is a modern computerised practice with a Practice Manager, three nurses and six staff servicing a population of over 8000. Area attractions include trout fishing, hiking, both water and snow skiing (seasonal), climbing, abseiling, hang-gliding, canoeing, canyoning and bird watching. If these pursuits do not suit you there are Service Clubs, special interest groups from computing to four wheel driving, professional organisations, charity groups and of course the Hospital Auxiliary.

The position carries VMO status at our local hospital and qualifications in Anaesthetics would be preferred. Relocation assistance can be arranged. Opportunities for commercial involvement are available. Rural General Practice offers an opportunity for the development and/or honing of a wide range of skills not generally obtainable in a metropolitan setting.
