Busby Medical Practice's aim is to provide a wide range of health service options in a collaborative practice. This allowing the GP and other health practitioners to work together and bring a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. The Practice is currently seeking a GP to work within this team environment. A full or part time commitment is negotiable. It is desirable that the GP assist in a small amount of on call and has an interest in teaching medical registrars and undergraduate students. Busby Medical Practice has been a recent participant in the Australian Primary Care Collaboratives program. This program has taught us to use collaborative methodology to improve health outcomes, maintain health for chronic and complex conditions and improve patient access to a GP. In 2009 Busby Medical Practice was awarded the prestigious Safety and Quality Award from Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL), the leading provider of general practice accreditation in Australia. AGPAL selected Busby from 1300 general practices from all over Australia. The Practice has been part of the Bathurst Community since 1828. Bathurst is a 2.5 hour drive from Sydney and has a population of 38,325. We enjoy the experience of four distinct seasons. With the turning of the leaves in autumn, occasional snowfalls in winter and beautiful blossoms in spring. Bathurst has a strong broadly based economy with good employment prospects. Bathurst prides itself as an education city. It has outstanding public education facilities including Charles Sturt University, Western Institute of TAFE, Conservatorium of Music, two high schools and numerous primary schools. Bathurst also has a large number of private primary schools and four private Colleges which have boarding facilities.
