Our client is a major Global Software Manufacturer and they are recruiting a Services Controller which plays a vital role in this success by combining excellence in P&L management, financial analysis and business planning with strong business partnership which contributes to ongoing profitable growth. The role has full responsibility for the end-to-end Services P&L and associated financial processes. Working directly with the Services Lead and Business Manager, it is an superb opportunity to be a key contributor to business decision making and learn about drivers & critical success factors for the business. The role works in a strong, established Finance team of 5 people and networks with the broader WE and Corp finance communities. The successful candidate will be a dynamic, results-orientated person with a comprehensive Finance / Business Analysis background, an aptitude for process and a passion for business.
Responsibilities

Financial Management: Ensure the Services business is meeting its monthly and quarterly profitability targets and financial scorecard metrics. Ensure all financial reporting & analysis is produced to the highest standard of accuracy, completeness, timeliness and relevance. Maintain and enhance related business & financial processing to ensure compliance with all relevant policies and eliminate data quality issues. Highlight variances in a timely manner and provide analysis on the business drivers & corrective actions needed. Own all financial analysis and reporting deliverables for the local & WE monthly reporting packages. Own the financial recording for the Belfast office facility.
 

Business Insight: Use financial & non-financial metrics to develop insights on trends emerging, anticipate their potential impact for the business and drive awareness and actions with Services lead. Understand how Irish business benchmarks with other countries, identify best practices & drive local adoption. Assist Services Business Manager in developing strong business processes, defining success metrics and tracking these metrics monthly.

Business Planning: Manage the monthly forecast and annual Mid-Year review and Budget planning processes for the Services business. Build robust planning models that drive detailed business understanding and produce insights in terms of trending, etc. Work with the Services management team to ensure forecasts accurately reflect underlying business drivers. Critically assess the quality of business inputs received and build an informed view on risk / upside potential. Support the subsidiary controller and segment leads in their formal reviews by preparing clear, concise summaries suitable for executive audience and liaising with WE stakeholders on escalation issues.
 

Business Partnership: Work with Services management team to understand their priorities & drive analysis that identifies opportunities to exceed these goals. Attend their team meetings & actively contribute to business discussions. Help develop non-financial scorecards & execution metrics to support the achievement of their business objectives.
 

Controls & Compliance: Understand all aspects of accounting policies relevant to the Services business. Drive compliance regarding revenue recognition, signed contracts & BIF. Ensure a strong monthly close process with accruals, prepayments, reconciliations etc posted accurately with supporting workings.

Essential Requirements
3rd level honours degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or relevant field.
Post-grad qualification, including profession accounting qualification, a distinct advantage
Min 5-10 years financial analysis experience in a dynamic complex corporation.
Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, analysis & presentations to senior management.
Superb communication skills in a senior management environment
