Responsibilities:
Production builds
- Monitor and Troubleshoot Multiple English and Localised production builds (logs and scripts).
- Develop production build scripts for English and localised products
- Maintain existing build scripts
- Add new build scripts for new products
- Execute l10n production builds (manual and through web scheduler)
- Execute and manage product build chains
- Archive source and output files. Manage build artifacts and clean up after builds.
- Maintain Product Release Group naming conventions and standards.
- Continuous integration builds
- Maintain and troubleshoot continuous integration builds through the Firebug system.
- Add new builds to the continuous integration pool in line with the migration process
Release coordination and product distribution
- Audit staged product releases to ensure that they conform to BSW release criteria.
- Maintain product release rebuilds on SELECT Downloads
Process Management
- Requirements gathering and subsequent project development.
- Create or modify SharePoint media to improve knowledge management.
- Present project progress to management and stakeholders
- Maintain documentation of tools and processes.
- Highlight areas of risk to the project or release plans.
Communication
- Communicate closely with BSW product development teams.
- Work closely with the build system team to ensure that the tools are meeting production needs.
- Provide support for implementing BSW and PRG best practices.
- Publish build metrics
Source code control
- Branch and tag repositories and files as necessary to support development teams
Skills & Experience:
- Experience with shell and scripting languages (e.g Shell, Python, Powershell)
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills )
- Very good knowledge of Windows XP, 7, 2003 and 2008.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Highly motivated and passionate about quality
- Must be curious, detail oriented, team-oriented, and self motivated
- High Proficiency using configuration management systems (CVS, Mercurial)
- Fluency in English required
